Committees

Habitat for Humanity Mississauga is a volunteer driven organization.  This includes the membership of Board of Directors and Committees which are comprised solely of dedicated volunteers who apply their skills and talents in specialized fields of interest to assist us in our important work.

At the present time HFHM has the following committees:


Construction Committee - The purpose of the Construction Committee is to plan, organize and carry out the construction of new Habitat homes in a way that includes prospective homeowners and volunteers.


Development Committee - The Development Committee is responsible for fund raising including securing major Sponsors and establishing and maintaining the relationship between HFHM and these Sponsors, Corporate Partners, Individual Donators and all fund raising events whether initiated by HFHM or Corporate/Community Partners.


Family Selection - The Family Selection Committee is responsible for the process of selecting partner families for the homes build by HFHM.  They review the applications, conduct in-home interviews, ensure the confidentiality of applicants and work to diligently to ensure the most appropriate family is selected.


Family Support - The Family Support Committee welcomes new families into the Habitat community and provides them with a mutual support system, educational opportunities and a forum for discussions regarding homeownership.


Public Relations Committee - The Public Relations Committee is responsible for handling all communication issues relating to HFHM’s public profile, overseeing the development of all print materials and managing the HFHM website.


ReStore Committee - The ReStore Committee has responsibility for locating an appropriate site, renovation, budget, logistics, staffing and stocking for the HFHM ReStore to be opened in Fall 2011.


Site Selection Committee - The Site Selection Committee is responsible for identifying and acquiring development sites and securing development approvals for Habitat for Humanity Mississauga build projects.


Volunteer Committee - The Volunteer Committee exists to identify, recruit, orient, utilize, retain and recognize volunteers in order to carry out the mission of HFHM.  The Committee is responsible for ensuring that volunteers have a rewarding experience in order to encourage and maintain the highest possible level of participation and commitment.


From time to time these committees will actively seek new members.  When opportunities exist these positions will be posted on our website.
